Frequent Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about planning your bespoke wedding or relaxing farm stay at Cormiston Farm.

Weddings & Venue
What options do you offer for barn and tipi weddings?

Our historic stone barn is perfect for intimate ceremonies and dining for up to 80 guests. We also feature a seasonal tipi site that can accommodate larger celebrations of up to 120, both offering a rustic and romantic atmosphere in the heart of the farm.

What happens if the weather is bad on our wedding day?

We are well-prepared for the Scottish climate! If rain is forecast, we have beautiful indoor contingency plans, including our barn space. The tipi is also designed to be completely weatherproof and cozy regardless of the external conditions.

Are we allowed to decorate the venue our own way?

Yes, we encourage you to make the space your own! You can decorate the barn and tipi to fit your vision, provided that all materials used are eco-friendly/biodegradable and no permanent fixings are made to our structures.

What are your policies for music and noise curfews?

To ensure the peace of our country neighbours and the well-being of our livestock, we have a midnight curfew for music. We ask that sound is gradually reduced from 11:30 PM to ensure a smooth transition at the end of the night.

Accommodation & Farm Stay
What kind of stay options do you have on the farm?

We provide traditional self catering within our historic farmhouse, as well as seasonal glamping experiences and dedicated camping space for guests who want to be close to nature.

What are the standard check-in and check-out times?

For our B&B and glamping guests, check-in is available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival. We kindly ask that you depart by 11:00 AM on the day of check-out.

Are you a child friendly venue?

Yes! We love having children at the farm. We just ask for parent supervision near our working farm machinery and all livestock for everyone's safety.

Can we visit or walk the farm grounds during our stay?

Guests are welcome to enjoy the farm grounds and view our animals. We ask that you respect all closed gates and signage, as some areas are restricted for farming operations and animal health.

Booking & Logistics
How do we secure our booking for a wedding?

We require a non-refundable booking fee to secure your preferred date. We then work with you on a staggered payment schedule, with final numbers and payment due 4 weeks before the event.

How does catering and bar service work?

Catering service depends on what you want, once we have arranged a plan leave it to us and your selected caterers to run everything on time. For drinks, we provide a fully licensed bar and can tailor a package for your drinks reception and meal to suit your budget and taste.

Is the farm accessible for guests with mobility needs?

Cormiston Farm is accessible, with the ground floor of the barn and our tipi site being wheelchair friendly. If you have guests with specific needs, please let us know so we can assist during planning.
